Eva Laplace hopes to receive her PhD from the University of Amsterdam on 14 January. Laplace studied how binary stars influence each other.

In a side project, she created award-winning software that depicts the life of a star in a more intuitive way. Until now, all teaching methods used diagrams that were difficult to grasp, such as the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, which is more than a hundred years old. The supervisors are Selma de Mink and Lex Kaper. Copromotor is Stephen Justham.
